A 400 level university Student of llorin, by name Felicia Odedeli In Kwara State Nigeria, chooses barbing as her professional handwork in she love doing.

The 19 years old Felicia stated this in corresponing. 

She discuess her interest in the work despired that the job is been considered mostly for masculine. Saying that she was about starting tricycle business but the permission was not granted.

My  father and my sister says their hands are not there. "She cry".

That was the reason I metermorphosed into barbing."She added".



One day, I was going through the social media, then I come across a  lady barbbing hair. From that day I was been encourage in barbing men hair. She added.

In teling my father concerning the idea of mine, he gave me the permission but my sister insistent. but my father said she should allow me to do what ever I want to do.


How  I learn Barbing work. 

According to Felicia, 

I resume work on june, 2020 and then by getting to August, I was  able to hold the clipper and by january I was able to barb. “She says”.

My first pratical was on my father’s head which he said it was okay although it was not really good but he said out, so that it can encourge me and also  to species my ability towards the work. And now, I know how to barb  so many style of hair  . She added.


Here Some of the challenges been face by some female baarbers. “Felicia added".

I will never give a chance to any man disturbing me on other things rather than barbing. "She added".

some men do says that they don’t allow  women to touch their hair, while some will say that it only their wife that can touch their head.

some  don’t even trust women especially when it come to barbing . 



She added that the work has help her in so many means and some many procedure  without her asking her perent for money excpet her school fees and her hostel fees.

I have trained eight persons, 

Two of them are done with their training and the remaining 6  person are still  on their traning level.“She say”.
